What you need to know about beauty treatments!
What is a facial?
A facial is a series of skin care treatments for the face, including steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks, peels, and massage. They are used for general skin health as well as for specific skin conditions. The goal of a facial is to clean pores, remove dead skin cells, and treat common skin concerns like acne, dark circles, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing.
What are the benefits of facials?
A professional facial is designed not just to help you relax, but to help improve your skin. Facials are customised treatments for the face, neck and décolletage that can help prevent and treat common problems.

What is Diamond Microdermabrasion?
Diamond microdermabrasion is a safe, non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure that deeply polishes and stimulates the skin using densely packed laser-cut diamonds to remove dead skin cells and promote the growth of healthy, new cells for a smoother, more radiant and flawless complexion. The vacuum action draws away dead skin cells and also works to stimulate the circulation and promotes increased blood flow to the area and the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated. It stimulates both the circulation and the growth of elastic fibres, resulting in more youthful and refreshed skin.
Does the treatment hurt?
The diamond microdermabrasion treatment does not hurt.
What is the skin appearance after the treatment?
The skin can appear slightly flushed straight after treatment. The skin may feel tight with mild redness. These effects normally subside within 24 hours of treatment. It is important to use a good moisturiser afterwards.
When will I see results?
This treatment is meant to be progressive not aggressive. Generally, results are more noticeable after the third treatment. After the first session the skin will appear fresher, cleaner, smoother and softer. A course of 8 treatments is recommended, usually performed every 10-14 days. Clients with acne or acne scarring might need more treatments and we recommend a monthly maintenance treatment after the course has finished to help maintain the results achieved.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is also known as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). Microneedling is aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, skin elasticity and scarring.
How does Microneedling work?
The process of Microneedling is similar to many other non-surgical skin-tightening procedures. The aim is to create a controlled non-thermal injury underneath the skin’s surface, inducing the body to respond through the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibres. This is the natural process of wound repair. The body creates new capillaries for an improved blood supply in the treated area. The skin plumps and thickens in response to this stimulus, ultimately reducing the appearance of scars, and fine lines and other skin texture changes. Additionally, through the generated openings in the skin we have an opportunity to apply serums to penetrate deeper into the skin.
Benefits of Microneedling!
- Improved fine lines and deep wrinkles
- Reduced appearance of scars (including acne scars)
- Softened stretch marks
- Lightened hyperpigmentation such as sun and age spots
- Reduces pores
- Smoother and firmer skin
- Reduced appearance of spider veins and broken capillaries
- Evened out skin tone
- A youthful glow
What to do before and after treatments?
Please see our information about “preparation and after care” advice above.
Does the treatment hurt?
Microneedling works by creating small punctures in the skin. While it is not overly painful, it can be uncomfortable, especially for patients who may be afraid of needles.
What is the skin appearance after the treatment?
After the treatment, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to ouch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days most visible erythema will be absolved.
When will I see results from my Microneedling treatment?
One of the many advantages associated with this treatment is that clients usually see some signs of improvement within a week. The initial results usually include improved skin tone, a reduction in acne visibility, and improved skin texture. Full results will show over the next three to six weeks. This gives your body enough time to produce collagen and elastin in the treated area.
How often can I repeat Microneedling?
Your body’s wound healing processes takes 4 to 6 weeks to create new, strong, healthy collagen. Microneedling treatment can be safely done about once a month or every 4 to 6 weeks.
What is LED Light Therapy?
LED Light Therapy is a totally pain-free and non-invasive skincare treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural healing process. LED light therapy can be effective for wound healing and other types of skin damage. By sending soothing energy deep into the tissue, LED works on a cellular level to combat active acne, reduce redness and rosacea, stimulate collagen production, induce faster healing and more.
How often should I have this treatment?
Regular treatments are important for the best result. We recommend 4-6 LED Light Therapy Treatments for optimal results at 3 – 4 days apart. You can also add this treatment to one of our facials to soothe the skin after treatments like Dimond microdermabrasion and skin needling.
